Hello honey lovers, my name is Karen Grove, owner of Mama G’s Honeybees. I live on 8 acres outside of Bennington, Nebraska surrounded by some of the hardest working girls around, my honeybees.  Now retired, I worked over 35 years as a Software Developer and Analyst, raised three great kids, am married, and have a beautiful daughter-in-law with two grandchildren, and gained a son-in-law in 2022. 

It all started in 1997, when I took my 3rd grade son to interview a local beekeeper for a science project. I was fascinated, mystified, and inspired by the magic and adventure that came from honeybees. The spell had been cast and my passion for beekeeping was coming alive, and after waiting 15 years, my dream came true.   I completed the Master Beekeeping Course @ University of Nebraska Lincoln, then in 2014 was awarded the 'Beekeeper of the Year' award from the Omaha Bee Club.

Since starting my business in 2012, I continue to formulate and create luxury handmade products from the hive.   In 2019 I received my Traditional Herbalist certificate and completed the Science of Herbalism, an Intensive Program with Rosemary Gladstar in the didactic, therapeutic, laboratory & fieldwork of Herbalism.   In 2018 I earned a certification of achievement for successfully completing the Rooted Wisdom Herbal Intensive Program from Kate Bodmann, Clinical Herbalist, RH, (AHG).
